UBS Kids Cup

Every year, around 162,000 children and young people aged between 7 and 15 years compete in the three athletic disciplines of running, jumping and throwing. The Cup content is held locally across all cantons and culminates in the final day at the Letzigrund in Zurich. UBS has been making this sporting competition possible since 2011. Previously, it had been using inflatable tents with fans running constantly at the competition venues. In 2019, UBS started looking for a more sustainable and efficient construction and logistics solution for future cantonal finals and the Swiss final.

Habegger impressed UBS with its regional logistics concept and a multi-functional and sustainable container system. Thanks to short transport routes to the 23 event locations, around two tonnes of CO2 could be saved each year. The well thought-out spatial concept and flexible design meant that all event activities such as the award ceremonies, T-shirt issue, autograph corner and the presentation of the finisher clips could all happen in one place. The container was fully equipped so that it could be set up right in the middle of the action. The integrated acoustic and visual representation of Swiss athletics heroes created an authentic atmosphere. In brief: we created order from the maelstrom of form, function and representation and delivered maximum mobility.

Habegger organised the roadshow for the UBS Kids Cup in the individual cantons both in 2019 and since 2021. The winners from the cantonal finals compete against each other in the Swiss final at Letzigrund, where we are responsible for the UBS brand presence in the UBS Village.
