Every two years, the courtyard of the St. Gallen Abbey District transforms into an impressive stage for an operatic drama, including in this year’s edition. In front of the magnificent baroque cathedral, a defining element of the UNESCO World Heritage site, rarely performed works or selected classics of the musical repertoire are presented. Our technical equipment and lighting design play a key role in shaping the atmosphere of this outstanding cultural experience. In 2025, the St. Gallen Festival celebrated its 20th edition with a performance of Giacomo Puccini’s opera Tosca, directed by the Argentine director Marcos Darbyshire, who brought Castel Sant’Angelo and Sant’Andrea della Valle to life against the backdrop of the abbey church.
In 2024, for the first time, a production of the St. Gallen Festival took place on the natural stage of the Flumserberge. This change of location brought specific requirements due to the geographical setting, which were addressed with great care on site. The impressive staging, supported by a perfectly coordinated interplay of sound and light, transformed the natural scenery of the Flumserberge into a breathtaking experience. Through the technical equipment deployed, a scenic and atmospheric lighting design emerged, making the event an exceptional cultural highlight.
