Every two years, the monastery courtyard of the St.Gallen Abbey District is transformed into an impressive stage for an opera drama. Rarities of musical literature are deliberately performed in front of the magnificent baroque cathedral, a central element of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Our technical equipment and lighting technology contribute significantly to the atmospheric staging of this outstanding cultural experience. In 2023, the St.Gallen Festival celebrated its 18th edition with the performance of the opera ‘Andrea Chénier’. The supporting programme included the dance piece ‘Erscheinen’ in the cathedral and a concert programme in the abbey district.
In 2024, a performance of the St.Gallen Festival took place on the natural stage of the Flumserberge for the first time. The change of location brought with it special requirements due to the geographical conditions, which were professionally solved on site with great care. The impressive production, accompanied by a perfectly harmonised interplay of sound and light, transformed the natural backdrop of the Flumserberge into a breathtaking experience. The technical equipment used created scenic and atmospheric lighting that turned the event into a special cultural highlight.
