This year’s International Skating Union (ISU) Award Show honoured outstanding international athletes from the world of figure skating in eight categories. The award ceremony took place in parallel to Art on Ice: two awards were presented in the studio and six awards were presented on the ice during the figure skating show. We were responsible for the entire broadcasting and technical realisation of the show as well as being in charge of the TV direction.
What made the assignment special was the seamless synchronisation of the award show with Art on Ice so that the six award presentations could be celebrated in real time during the Art on Ice show.
Timing was the biggest challenge in successfully organising all areas of the ISU Award Show. Our director coordinated the live timing of Art On Ice so that every second and every detail of the award ceremony matched the figure skating show – two events had to run harmoniously side by side.
The event was extremely successful for the client, presenting a successful show so precisely. In addition, they recorded 210,000 YouTube views from all over the world in the first four days. Several major TV stations broadcast the signal live on their channels
