The Helvetas Symposium 2022 was held in the Kursaal Bern under the title “Private Sector Engagement – from Aspirations to Reality” and focused on how aid projects can become commercially viable in the long term. Due to the international appeal of the event, the NGO decided for the first time to organise the symposium in a hybrid form. This meant that speakers and Helvetas staff who were abroad were also able to participate live. A total of 80 invited guests attended on site, and around 100 digitally.
We not only supported the client in the technical implementation of the event, but also transformed the planned content into a well thought-out script that gave the symposium a well-rounded flow and still allowed for a lean implementation. The varied conference programme was highly dynamic, thanks to the entertaining presentations by top-class speakers from politics, business and the non-profit sector and the strong interaction between the participants. During the breakout sessions, for example, among other activities the guests had to compete in the social e-game “Rice for People & Planet”. In addition, there were exciting broadcasts from India and Afghanistan, which underlined the live character of the event and its topicality.
