As part of a facelift for the Hallenstadion, AG Hallenstadion was looking for a new structural solution for the foyer and the backstage area. It was important to the operator that the areas could be used multifunctionally in future and should have a modern look and feel. Thanks to a sophisticated concept, we were able to win the tender and had the opportunity to redesign the premises, from conceptualisation through to implementation.
Inviting ambience
The centrepiece of the facelift is the foyer. We picked up on existing architectural elements of the listed building, like metal supports and exposed concrete walls, and showed them to best advantage using simple yet effective measures. We paid particular attention to lighting. A sky of lightbulbs bathes the large, open space in warm, calming light, creating an ambience that is both festive and inviting. Installed spotlights can be controlled separately as an additional feature – this allows for ambience lighting in an individual branded look.
Linear design
Thanks to a coordinated colour and materials concept, we were able to highlight the advantages of the premises, create linearity and bring a calmer feel to the foyer. The colours of the striking, light-coloured brick wall are also picked up in the wooden furnishings. Parts of the interior were specially produced by our partner, the joinery workshop Gil & Ruiz AG.
Places of retreat and visitor guidance
The backstage area was also redesigned. Modern, inviting dressing rooms now serve as a retreat for artists preparing for their big performance. New LED lighting on the “Way to Stage” and at the stage door provides ideal guidance for visitors. The Wall of Fame and the history display have also been refurbished and given a new look.
