The Innovation Lab is the platform for digital transformation in the construction and real estate industry at the Swissbau trade fair. We were given the opportunity to design and implement an interactive trade fair presence for EQUANS Schweiz, the leading provider of services for a building’s entire life cycle.
The round table as a symbol
Getting all of the stakeholders around the table right from the first construction phase? EQUANS’ innovative working method “Integrated Project Delivery (IPD)” offers a comprehensive view of construction projects. This boosts efficiency and prevents errors from being made during planning and implementation.
In keeping with the method, we worked with the client to develop an interactive round table that would optimally present this new service from EQUANS to trade fair visitors. On this the four areas of the IPD method, “Design”, “Planning”, “Implementation”, and “Operation and Maintenance” were shown, using a real new construction project.
Visual dissemination of knowledge
In the driver’s seat: Trade fair visitors were able to use a tablet to scan codes shown on the interactive table. This opened up a three-dimensional world, in which the advantages of IPD were explained to them using animations. The way IPD interacts with building information modelling (BIM) and lean management was also explained, as well as picking up on topics like smart homes. We created an augmented reality level for this special, visual knowledge dissemination. An exciting interactive quiz ensured even more visitor participation.
