Together for inclusion – a Barrier-free Community Forum
In an inspiring community forum organized by the Directorate of Justice and Interior, the implementation of the “UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities” was carried out. The aim of the event design was to ensure the participation of people with various disabilities. The event was not only barrier-free but also an impressive example of commitment to promoting rights.
As the general contractor, we were responsible for the overall project management of the event, guiding the client from the initial inquiry through the concept to implementation, including communication with interpreters and the coordination of various suppliers. In collaboration with our client, we created layouts and visuals, the schedule, and projection design, orchestrating presentations, speakers, as well as sign language and written language interpreters.
The technical challenge was to fulfill inclusion in all areas of the event, including a wheelchair-accessible stage, sign language moderation, and translation for the audience. In addition to sound reinforcement and lighting in the Hallenstadion foyer and stage, the installation of an induction loop was a special technical task. It allowed hearing aid users to directly receive the program sound, and with the orchestrated lighting, we created an impressive atmosphere.
Additionally, we installed delay screens in the foyer to ensure optimal visibility of the live feed from the speakers and sign language interpreters from every angle.
