Credit Suisse held a week-long series of events relating to “Sustainable Investment” in June. We had the opportunity to support Sustainability Week both in terms of content and technology. The digital and hybrid events were held in the Habegger green screen studio in Regensdorf, as well as at the head office of the International Committee of the Red Cross and at the Maison de la Paix in Geneva in front of a live audience.
Over 70 well-known major players from business, sports, and society discussed sustainable growth and climate protection in around 21 different sessions. Alongside Michael Bloomberg, former New York Mayor and businessman, and Mark Carney, the former Governor of the Bank of England, environmental activist Dr Jane Goodall and athlete Roger Federer also offered their assessments and experiences to the international online audience as well as to the audience on site.
A special technical milestone at the event was the digital event platform, for whose design and management we were also responsible. A virtual 360-degree world, consisting of an arena and various domes, invited guests to discover something new every day. The platform allowed us to create a unique digital location that brought together all of the guests, despite them not being physically in the same location.
The entire Sustainability Week was coordinated from the stage direction hub in Regensdorf. Our show director and his team ensured successful dramaturgy at both event locations with a carefully planned and meticulously timed script, seamless transitions, and surprising interactions. The keynote speeches were streamed in four languages. To do this, we used the Zoom remote translation function: the 33 simultaneous interpreters were thus not physically present on site, but instead also connected online. This meant that we controlled up to 10 parallel streams. Sustainability Week was technically very challenging. Thanks to our experience at Habegger with complex digital events, we were nevertheless able to successfully meet this challenge.
