In November 2020, the Swiss Implant Foundation (Implantat Stiftung Schweiz, ISS), together with the four expert societies SGI, SSOS, SSP and SSRD, held the 5th Swiss Implant Conference for private practitioners. As a result of the Covid-19 restrictions, the event took place without a physical audience. The two-day conference was instead streamed live to the digital audience from Kursaal Bern. To do this, a modern studio was specially set up on the stage of the largest room, “Arena”, with appropriate staging.
The conference programme on “Digital Transformation in Implantology – Possibilities and Current Limitations” could be seen on the organiser’s online platform. The expert audience thus always had a overview of what was happening and was able to take part in every talk and podium discussion that was of interest to them. It was very important to the foundation that the participants were able to network and interact. This was possible thanks to the event platform: the participants were able to not only ask questions live, but also interact and network amongst themselves in the chat. The sponsors of the conference could make use of the online sponsor area to present their latest products and services.
The content of the live stream could be accessed on demand for a certain period of time after the dentistry conference via the platform. This allowed even people who hadn’t registered for the conference to view a replay of the event for a corresponding fee.
Habegger was responsible for the project management, content production and the entire event technology. This also included seamless streaming and the design and implementation of the event platform.
